Life Lately - July

The first half of July we traveled on our family vacation, but we've been pretty busy since we got back. We celebrated Bryan's birthday at his favorite barbecue restaurant in town:

LCU had an alumni event at the Texas Rangers baseball game so that was a fun excuse to drive to Arlington:

In a random twist, we saw my cousins there & we haven't seen them in years so that was a fun surprise:

Sadie went on the mission trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma like she did last year with our church youth group. They left early Monday morning but she had to stay for soccer that night, so she had a 10:30 flight that evening. Bryan booked a 10:00 flight for business also so they didn't fly together, but at least they went to the airport together:

I have seen all sorts of pictures from their week serving. She was really excited about this little ice cream kitchen she put together:

Her group made lunches to pass out & pray with the homeless:

They worked on a farm, which supported a local food bank:

They helped organize & run a VBS and they all went to church together Wednesday night:

From what I hear, she had an awesome time serving & just hanging out with her friends:

I am so thankful our church does trips like this & she had the opportunity to go. Next year Sophie will be able to join her!

While she was gone, I spent the week with Sophie & we got her ready for middle school! We went back to school shopping & bought school supplies, a new backpack, new tennis shoes, a first day of school outfit & her dress for her first cotillion:

She had a pool party with her cheer squad to kick off the new season:

They have partied with K-Life all summer. Popsicles in the park on Monday nights, Wednesday morning bible studies, the Roughriders baseball game in June & a pool party in July:

Finally, we have tried to cook out, swim & hang out with friends as much as possible before summer winds down:

July has been fun & I am sad to see it go. Only 1 1/2 more weeks until school starts!
