First Day of School - 5th & 7th Grade

I know, it's 100 degrees outside & it's still early August, but the girls officially started school this week:

I honestly don't know how our summer flew by so fast, but we had a blast, blinked & now they are officially back in school & I miss them already! With Sadie's soccer tournament, we had a really late night but the girls were still up early yesterday morning ready to go:

Elementary starts first & since it is Sophie's last year, we all walked her in. We were excited to see the Wakeland cheerleaders welcoming us, especially when we saw our neighbor Hadley:

and then we got her settled in at her desk with her friends & her teacher:

The girls have several friends that have older & younger siblings the same age so we had fun seeing all of Sadie's friends there too:

After we dropped Sophie off, we walked next door to meet up with all of Sadie's friends:

And we laughed because we had to recreate the mom picture of the girls taking a selfie from last year. Sadie had just gotten a phone so the selfies from the first day of school were plenty:

We were taking a group picture & then more girls kept joining:

and we were laughing because clearly there is a 7th grade girl uniform - athletic fitted tops with athletic skirts and Nike shoes. Ha! 

Although Sadie breaks the mold because she prefers shorts & she had those same Nike shoes last year so this year she wanted On. Good for her for standing on her own! Honestly, it won't matter because most days she will be wearing this:

She came home from school yesterday with her athletic duffle bag & practice uniforms. We got it packed & ready for her athletic locker & she is beyond excited for school sports. In fact, volleyball try outs start today! I know she is nervous & excited all at the same time, but I know she will do great & I am excited to see her play with her school friends. Let's go Gators!
