St. Lucia By Night

You've seen the island by day, now let's see it at night:

We had the best sunset our very first night there. I took that picture when we walked up to the lobby & I took this picture while we were eating dinner & watching the sun set:

Our first meal was at The Cane Bar, which is their asian fusion & we loved it! In fact, it was Bryan's favorite meal of the week:

The second night we had reservations at Bonte, which is the main bar & restaurant at the beach. I took this picture from our villa before we rode down:

It was another beautiful evening so of course we had a little impromptu photo shoot on the beach:

The next evening, we had reservations at Saltwood, which is their nicest restaurant. It is a steakhouse on the top floor with an amazing sunset view:

Several nights we were there, they had a s'mores station set up at night for free! Let's just say all 4 of us were excited to go down there. They were always really nice & gave Sadie & I new items from the back so we didn't have to get anything contaminated:

Side note, we had our own pool at our villa & the girls jumped in a few times, but they didn't swim too much there. A few times they would jump in while I was getting ready since I take the longest:

Then the girls liked to use the outdoor shower. Normally I do, but it was not 100% private, so I wasn't as brave as them!

And this was the first time the girls were really into the robes - I always wear it but this trip they did as well:

Meanwhile, Bryan usually got ready & jumped on his computer or read while he waited for us:

Our butlers surprised us one day while we were out & decorated our room for our anniversary. They even decorated the girls' room too:

I thought that was such a fun surprise! No one has ever done it quite to this extent before.

Another evening, another sunset from our balcony:

Wednesday night was one of my favorites. They had a Latin Fiesta Night at Bonte & of course it was overpriced, but surprisingly, the food was delicious! I'm talking a nacho bar, quesadilla bar, fajita bar - it was fantastic!

They gave the girls virgin margaritas & the adults real margaritas. Of course, the girls didn't like theirs, so they got strawberry daiquiris instead:

We had a phone from the butler & since everyone has a phone but Sophie, she thought this one was hers. So every time we needed a ride, she would call for us & she would carry it around the whole time:

They had a live band almost every night, but this night was my favorite! We made the buffet last by taking our time enjoying our meal while listening to the music :

When we got back to our room that night, we were surprised the room was so dark on the outside. It was like they forgot to turn on lights for turn down service until we went in - they had a disco party going on for us!

I'm telling you; it was over the top & the girls loved it! They slept with it on all night long......

Thursday night we went to dinner at Jalousie:

Friday night the resort had a Beach BBQ. Again, it was way overpriced, but they had live music & most families went, so it was fun:

I personally did not like it as much as I did the Latin night, but the dessert station was beyond amazing! They had a chocolate fountain, an ice cream cart, a pastries station & a Haribo gummy bar:

This is Charlotte. I can't remember if I have talked about her much, but the girls instantly connected with her, especially Sophie & they were glued at the hip. This night they made their dads a gummy plate:

It did rain on & off this evening, so the girls had fun playing on the beach with their umbrellas & dancing in the rain:

And then it was one of my favorite nights of the trip - they had a DJ play from 9:00 - 11:00 & I figured it would be the younger couples out there, but instead it was these 2 girls & their 2 moms dancing the night away:

Sadie & Bryan went back to the room with the rest of Charlotte's family but the 4 of us danced our hearts out that night!

Saturday evening was the only night we made plans to leave the resort. There is a small, adults only resort up higher in the mountain that is known for their restaurant & I really wanted to go. The girls were excited to stay in the villa by themself, so we told our butlers & they kept an eye on them. We let them order room service while we snuck away.

Long story, but our cab was supposed to pick us up at 5:45 & our dinner reservation was at 6:00. This was the earliest we went all week because everyone said it was worth it to get there for sunset. This is the picture Sadie took before we left:

By 6:15 I was very irritated that our cab still wasn't there. We finally made it to the resort around 6:30 but all of the good tables were taken & we got there for the very end of the sunset. Oh well, at least it was still beautiful & worth the drive:

See that little cove down there - that's Sugar Beach! Our resort is the only place in that area, so it was very private:

Even though it was only a 10-15 minute taxi ride, it cost $50! Yet another reason we hardly left the resort & ate most of our meals there.

We've started a tradition the past couple of years where we don't make any plans our last evening. The girls want to swim & we want to soak up the beach as long as we can, so we did that again this year! They have a pier on the south side of the beach where they have Jetty's burgers, but they are only open from 1:00 - 4:00 in the afternoon. We hadn't eaten there because we always ate such big, late breakfasts, so we made plans to sneak over there around 3:45, right before they close & had an early dinner:

Sadie found this hammock at the pier & loved sitting out there:

and here is a view from the south pier back towards the main resort & beach:

We visited on the pier for a while before we walked back to the main beach. We lucked out and had an absolutely beautiful afternoon/evening for our last day there:

I don't know if you can see it, but we actually saw a rainbow while we were out there! Look in the middle of the green trees on the mountain & you can see it:

It was so quiet & relaxing. Bryan & I were reading when I looked up & saw the girls - it just made my mama heart happy seeing them in the sunset:

St. Lucia was even more beautiful than I remembered & I am so thankful we went back to celebrate our 20th anniversary with the girls there:
