St. Lucia By Day

Our days started earlier because it was full sun by 5:30 so I don't think Bryan or I slept too late. Now the girls on the other hand, had to be woken up most mornings! Sadie had a summer fitness training schedule from her soccer coach, so we woke her up at 9:00 every morning & she came to the gym with us:

It was too mountainous to run around the resort, so she had to train on the Peloton treadmill. I did a little cardio, but I am loving the Peloton app & took a few classes on my own while they ran:

While we were at the gym, Sophie went to the kids club at 9:30 every morning. The girls LOVED the kids club & spent a lot of time there. Every now & then there would be other kids, but it was mostly them so they could do whatever they want. They made slime, arts & crafts, bracelets, played games, had a water balloon fight, tye dyed shirts & even they even baked cookies a few times!

Our stay included the breakfast buffet & it ended at 10:30 so we literally barely made it to breakfast by 10:15 most days! I won't write a lot about our meals but I will say that when I walked in the first morning, we were pleasantly surprised to see an entire table full of gf pastries:

Unfortunately, most of them were not the best. They always tend to be really dense & crumbly. I was disappointed that they couldn't really make us any gf pancakes, waffles or french toast, so we mostly had fruit, bacon & hit up the omelet station. However, the reason I took this picture is because we thought it was funny they had cinnamon cookies & brownies at breakfast every morning - they never had it any other meal & they were so good, so we literally ate one of every single morning!

After breakfast on our first day, our shuttle driver took us to sunset point & it had the best views! He took pictures of us but of course we have exercise clothes & bathing suits on. We kept saying we would come back at night for real sunset pictures, but we never did:

Moving on to where we spent most of our time - the beach!

They had the usual free water sports including kayaking, paddleboarding & snorkeling, but they also had 5 floats, a tumble track & trampoline in the water. The girls absolutely loved all of this & spent most of their time out there:

They even had a hammock out in the water:

Of course, we ordered a lot of fruity drinks & 3 of us read quite a bit:

Besides drinks, they passed out popsicles every single day at 3:00 & we never missed one! Every other day they were either a fresh fruit popsicle or a chocolate covered fruit popsicle & both were delicious:

They had some of the best snorkeling in our area so literally boats would come over all day & drop off tourists to snorkel in our cove. All 4 of us snorkeled but Bryan & Sadie went diving 3 times. They took the resort's boat & didn't have to go very far out:

I love that they have a hobby to do together!

Sophie still has no interest in diving, in fact, we can barely get her to snorkel, so I let her choose something else to do & she chose the spa. Ha! Of course she did:

The spa was literally in tree houses in the middle of the rain forest & was so cool! She chose the chocolate delight, which was a 45 minute massage for tweens:

I think she would choose the spa over diving any day!

The rest of the time they were gone, I swam in the pool with her. It was a beautiful pool, but no one was ever in it:

We really wanted to go for a hike on one of the pitons, but the girls did not. Sophie loves going ziplining, so we did that one day just for her:

This was also about 10 minutes from our resort, so not far & it didn't last long. They only had 8 lines & some of them were pretty short, but kind of like the spa, it was built in tree houses in the middle of the rain forest & it was pretty cool:

Side note - did I mention the zip line plantation had the cutest bathroom I have ever seen in the Caribbean?!

We have ziplined here, Maui & Costa Rica & Costa Rica is by far our favorite, but this was still worth it:

We lucked out & chose the best day to zipline because it was a cloudy morning & rained most of the day. The huts were so big & awesome though - we sat out there all afternoon in the rain & were able to read & stay dry. Well, when we wanted to. We also swam in the rain too because why not?

To be honest, it rained every single day, except most days it was sunny & just had a sprinkle here or there. Just enough to keep the island green but not enough to bother you. There were a couple of big rainstorms at night, but this was the only day it was really cloudy & rainy during our entire trip.

Whew - that was a lot of pictures! I can't help myself; I absolutely love taking pictures, documenting our trips & then making a photo book when we get home. Hope you enjoy them as much I do!
