Cotillion Grand Spring Ball

Since August, Sadie has been going once a month to her cotillion classes along with her friends & finally this past weekend they had their grand spring ball:

Everything they learned at all of their monthly meetings led to this. The girls had to wear a white dress, their white gloves & either a white or nude shoes. We had a hard time finding a dress that wasn't too fancy and fit her. Unfortunately, most of her friends are wearing teen or adult sizes whereas she is still in the children's department & a lot of those dresses were for first communions or flower girls. Thankfully we found one she was happy with & I thought she looked beautiful:

Simple with a little sparkle. And her blue cast! Ha! She actually did a good job hiding her cast behind other's backs most of the day but I told her to take one with it so we could remember it. We went with a few of her friends & of course we took a lot of pictures when we got there:

These were in the lobby before we made it down to the ballroom:

They lined up with their escorts & I couldn't help but snap a picture because her escort was twice her size:

They also took a picture of her escort & I found this picture of her later on:

Most of the moms got there early so after we snapped pictures, we headed upstairs to one of the bars & restaurants in the lobby to have lunch while we waited:

Most of the dads came later, including Bryan. He actually drove several of the dads & Sophie tagged along. Fun fact, they picked up flowers to surprise Sadie & Sophie was so proud to be holding them:

Families got to go inside the ball for the last 30 minutes. There were so many kids it was hard to find your own but it's such a small little Frisco world because we saw so many families we know, not just from school, but pre-school, church & sports through the years:

They had a couple of dance contests & then they showed off several of the dances they learned this season:

Before they ended, they announced a couple of dance winners & Sadie was one of them! They ended the ball with inviting the parents on to the dance floor so Bryan got to dance with her while Sophie & I watched:

The girls had so much fun dancing & then we took a lot more pictures until they kicked us out because they were ready for the next ball. Ha!

I know, it's a lot of pictures but besides mine, several friends were taking them & sharing them also. These are some of my favorites though - the outakes!

I think it's been a fun experience & I'm sure Sadie has learned a thing or two, even if she doesn't want to admit it! Guess we'll be doing this again when Sophie is in 6th grade:
