Life Lately - January

I thought the holidays went fast, but what happened to January?! Sadie was quite social this month & when she wasn't at soccer, I think she was at a birthday party. She has found a great group of girls this year & they are quite inseparable. One of them had a party at Main Event:

And 2 of her parties were at the mall. Yep, that's the age we're at right now. The first one I don't have pictures from but they basically shopped, walked around & ate at the Cheesecake Factory. The next one, they had a mall scavenger hunt & based on the pictures, it appears they had a great time:

From one party with no pictures to the next with tons!

She's even had a few sleepovers:

Sophie's had a busy month too. Our school had a new event called Pink Reads and she had fun wearing her pajamas, drinking hot cocoa & reading after hours at the school with her friends:

While Sadie was at one of her parties, Sophie had a gluten date with Dad at Whataburger. She is obsessed with their Dr. Pepper milkshake:

She was also introduced to Chili's with her friend, Sloane. Can you believe our 10 year old has never been to Chili's before?!

Our school choir got invited to sing the national anthem at the Texas Legends basketball game:

Finally, her girl scout troop has been busy also. It is cookie season & somehow I have zero pictures but she has been selling & I am still troop cookie manager so I still have all of the troop's inventory at our house. They also kicked off the year with a service project at Fast Pacs:

This was during our first cold front where we didn't get above freezing for 4 days & we had our first snowfall. Sadie's soccer practice got cancelled so she got to help the girls out. We packed over 400 bags & had a fun time:

Moving on to Bryan & I, our life group at church couldn't find a time to get together in December so we had a belated Christmas party in January. Who knew we would have that much fun celebrating after the fact?!

And we had a quick get away to Florida:

Bryan went for business & I tagged along with him. In fact, this is the 3rd year I have gone with him in January to see the same client. We always enjoy a few days away, even if he is working. We always find a moment to sneak off for brunch, a quick work out or dinner with a client:

It was a nice break from reality going for a run in 70 degree weather every morning! If only we can hang on 1 more month, maybe warmer weather is on the horizon!
