Spring Soccer 2018

Normally spring soccer starts the beginning of February. The past 2 years I have griped that it was too cold to start soccer so early & didn't know why spring soccer started in the middle of winter. So this year FSA pushed it back & it was supposed to start the end of February. Then winter weather happened & brought a lot of rain so our first 2 weekends of games were cancelled. Finally, the girls got to play their first game this past weekend & it was perfect weather for spring soccer! Playing soccer in March when it's actually spring makes sense :)

First up, Sophie. Her team, the Twinkle Toes are all back together with the addition of 1, her friend Abby. Bryan still coaches & Sophie loves it:

Gotta love that akward picture of her with her friends before the game! I will admit it was kind of early so I don't think they were awake enough quite yet :)

I tried to get a few action shots of Sophie but it is harder with her because she doesn't touch the ball as often. But I will say she has gotten way more into soccer this year. She definitely hustled & went after the ball way more in her first game then she did all season in the fall:

They lost but it was a close game & the girls did great! I was snack mom & since their game was so early, we surprised them with donuts:

You can't tell, but we went to the Donut Bar & had them make donuts that said Twinkle Toes with a few soccer ball donuts in there as well. Sophie was excited to eat a soccer ball:

I think it's going to be a fun season with these girls now that they are a little older & have a little experience. There may be some bribing going on at home if we can get Sophie to score a goal this season!

On our way to Sophie's game, we dropped Sadie off at Kenzie's house because the Sweet Cleats had pictures before the game. I guess Lena had fun taking pictures of the girls because she kept sending me shots of the two of them:

Luckily their game was right after Sophie's & they were at the same field so we walked over & met her at her game after Sophie's. I always try to take pictures their first game & then I'm pretty good about putting the camera up after that. Sadie is the opposite of Sophie & dominates the ball when she is out there so I got several action shots of her:

They easily won their opening game & afterwards she was excited to see a few of her friends on another team:

I have a feeling it's going to be a fun spring season, especially since we are playing later & the weather should be great. Love being outside & watching these girls play!
