Last Weekend of Summer

We started our last weekend of summer with a pool party, however the weather didn't want to cooperate. The Goff family came over on Friday but I think it sprinkled off & on the entire time they were here. Luckily it never got bad but it wasn't exactly the sunny weather I envisioned for our last official pool party. But that didn't stop these kids from having fun:

The water did get a little cooler so we had to heat the hot tub:

I know that sounds bizarre to say in August! We had lunch & played games also:

It was a great morning. Thanks for coming over Emily!

That afternoon, I surprised the girls & took them to get haircuts. They've really only had a hair cut once so I was trying to find someone new & went to see a referral from a friend & she did great. First she washed & treated their hair:

And when I say treated, I mean she removed all of the built up chemicals from their hair. Their pony tails were literally green! Luckily it worked & after she trimmed their hair, it looked much healthier:

Sophie said she wanted her hair short but she loves her pony tails so I asked her to leave some length. She cut about 2 inches. Sadie just had a trim because she barely has 2 inches to cut! She straightened both of their hair & both of them looked beautiful:

After their haircuts, we walked next door to pick up Sadie's sports goggles:

Like I said in an earlier post, we let her pick out whatever she wanted since these were for fun. Her every day glasses are neutral so she wanted pink for the Sweet Cleats. Looks like she is ready for soccer!

Eye Doctor - Check. Dentist - Check. Hair Cut - Check.

I think they are officially ready for school!

We decided that we would let the whole weekend be about Sadie & let her plan all of our activities. So Friday night we went to dinner & had Mexican food followed by ice cream:

Several new restaurants opened at The Star including this new ice cream shop so we were excited to try it. Let's just say it did not disappoint :)

The next morning she wanted to go to Studio Movie Grill to see a movie & eat lunch:

We ate dinner at home that night but she really wanted to get a sno cone, so we headed to Bahama Bucks:

What a perfect way to cheers the end of summer:

On Sunday morning, it was promotion day at church so both of the girls were excited to move up to a new class. Especially Sadie since she officially moved in to the children's ministry with the other kindergarteners. They even celebrated with Krispy Kreme donuts:

That afternoon I surprised Sadie & let her get her first official mani & pedi:

I have taken her a couple of times & let her get her nails polished, but this time I actually paid for her to have the spa treatment. She LOVED it!

When we got home, we baked banana bread:

then we had a surprise visit from Hadley:

She brought over a learning toy/book for both of the girls & she wrote the sweetest letter to Sadie about her first day of school. After that, it was time to get ready for bed! Kenzie's birthday was last week & I found matching best friend pink nightgowns for Sadie to give Kenzie as her present. I thought it would be perfect for them to wear their new, matching, pink pajamas for their first day of school at Pink Elementary:

It was so sweet! They both recorded videos for each other & we sent them to each other to watch before they went to bed. We also gave her a kindergarten book & both of the girls read it before they went to bed:

And that's it! Just like that, summer is over :( It was a great summer & it went by so fast but I am really looking forward to the next chapter in our lives since Sadie is starting school!
