Pebble Beach

Bryan has a big birthday coming up this summer but instead of having a big party, he decided he wanted to celebrate all year with a couple of vacations. He just got back from his first one & literally the first thing he said when he walked through the door was "Way better than a party - totally worth it!"

Bryan is turning 40 & his father just turned 60 so they took a father son golfing trip to Pebble Beach in California. He knows I like to blog about everything so he took a lot of pictures for us. He also knows that the girls love seeing pictures while he is gone :) First picture came from their early morning flight from Dallas to Phoenix:

They had a short layover & then they flew to Monterrey:

They got in early afternoon so they had time to practice after they checked in:

They also went to the pro shop to look at souvenirs & while they were there they ran into the Fire Chief from Frisco:

And Bryan met another guy who lives in our neighborhood. Small world!

Next day they got up bright & early for their first round at Spanish Bay:

Obviously it is pretty chilly there even in summer so they had to wear layers but isn't it beautiful?! They would basically get up early every morning & go straight to the course for an early tee time & then they would golf all morning. Apparently by the time they finished they were exhausted & hungry so they would eat an early dinner & then turn in early at night. They walked quite a bit & had caddy's so they aren't used to either of those things.

The next day they went to Spy Glass & this was their favorite:

You can tell between the both of them that they took a lot of pictures! Later that night, they saw the bagpiper which is a tradition they do every day at sunset:

Their final day there they played Pebble Beach:

He texted me that morning & told me that they had a live camera set up on the 17th & 18th holes so he let us know when they were there & we got to watch them live:

I know they look like little ants out there so I couldn't really tell who was who but I took screen shots of the video & as soon as I showed them to him, he could point out everyone. That was hole 17 & this is hole 18:

Can you see someone under the tree? That is Bryan apparently!

The girls thought it was neat getting to see them play. It was a quick 4 day trip & I know Bryan wishes they could have stayed longer, but I hear it was a trip of a lifetime. I am so glad they got to spend some extra time together & do something they both love in such a gorgeous place. Happy belated birthday Robert & happy early birthday Bryan!
