We officially registered Sadie for kindergarten a few weeks ago, but this week she had Kinder Camp! The school invited all students who registered to a meet & greet and orientation:
As soon as we got there we ran into Kenzie:
Literally out of all the people there, we ran into her first in the parking lot & they couldn't have been more excited! We are fortunate to know a handful of people who work at the school, several students in older grades & a few kids she is starting kinder with. It helps that Bryan is on the school board & it's a neighborhood school so we know most of our neighbors there. While the girls were checking in, we ran into our neighbor Presley who was giving tours. She started kinder this past year:
We even met up with Addie, who is a new friend we met a couple of months ago. We have had a few play dates with her in preparation of kindergarten:
Each of the kids were divided into groups based on the color of their bandannas & they got to tour the school:
The kids got to check out the classrooms, the cafeteria, the library, the gym & I'm sure much more but we wouldn't know because the parents got left behind. Thankfully they had a coloring & reading station set up for the siblings so Sophie had fun while Bryan & I sat through a meeting. We did find a few pictures on the school's facebook page & it looks like Sadie was enjoying story time with her new friends:
Finally they came back & Sophie was so excited! She kept asking where her sister was. Everyone keeps asking me how I am going to do with Sadie starting school, but honestly, I think I will be fine but I think this one is going to have a hard time not seeing her best friend all day:
At least we met another built in friend for her since Addie has a little sister Lucy:
The school really did a good job coming up with a theme & making it a fun night for the kids so of course we had to take a few more pictures in their photo area before we left:
They have a few more events planned this summer so we look forward to meeting new people as she gets ready for school in the fall!
