The girls & I planned a Valentine party for their friends but I got sick with the flu & we had to cancel, so we made up for it by hosting a spring party & Easter egg hunt at our house yesterday! I didn't host one last year so I had fun decorating & coming up with ideas for this year. I am not the Pinterest mom who is super crafty, but I usually try to do a few things the kids will enjoy:
One of Sadie's friends, Anna Grace, brought me the flowers. Aren't they beautiful?! I thought that was so sweet of her :) Now for close ups, I tried to make fruit kabobs with peeps & little egg nests out of chow mein noodles:
Before everyone came over, I took pictures of the girls. I have a feeling my days of putting them in matching holiday outfits are limited!
I tried to invite mostly older kids Sadie's age since I knew this would be our last Easter play date with her friends, but most of her friends have younger siblings so Sophie had friends too. The weather was perfect so they spent most of the time playing outside:
We attempted a game where the kids had to race each other with a jelly bean on their spoon, but it wasn't that successful. Besides, they were mostly here for the egg hunt. We asked each friend to bring 12 eggs so everyone could go home with 12 eggs. Let's just say it was a lot of eggs:
It took 2 of these beverage containers to hold all of the eggs! Luckily some of the moms helped hide the eggs in the back yard while the kids waited inside. I had to block the door because they were literally bouncing off the walls trying to sneak out:
We had 2 hunts - 1 for the big kids & 1 for the younger kids. They happened so fast I hardly got any pictures. It looks like the girls were hunting together, but technically they were just helping each other out:
We tried to get a picture of the littles but had a hard time gathering them all in one place:
The big kids were a little easier, but I still don't think everyone is there:
It was definitely chaotic with that many children running around, but honestly, I loved every minute of it! I just can't believe how big all of our kids are getting & I was grateful to have everyone over.
