Life Lately

Besides Valentine's Day, not much else happened this week. Bryan & I don't usually do much to celebrate Valentine's but the church had free childcare last weekend so we took advantage of the free babysitting & went to dinner. Who knew we would see 2 other couples there at the same restaurant:

After gymnastics on Monday, the girls went with me to the dermatologist to get my stitches removed from my back:

I usually go to the doctor while they are in school, but I thought this was a good teaching moment. Sadie was fascinated with the stitches - how they stitched me up & how they removed the stitch. I have been trying my best to talk to them about good skin care already! I am really encouraging sun screen & hats at a young age :)

Later that afternoon, Kenzie invited Sadie to her dance class:

We don't have any dance outfits so she wore her gymnastics leotard! She loved the dance class & would join if I let her but she already has too much going on & she starts kinder soon.

We spent a little time outside this week, but not much since it was cooler & it rained a lot. Sophie has gotten really good on her scooter:

The girls got a Valentine package in the mail from their cousins & they got cards from grandparents. They get so excited when they get mail!

We baked a few Valentine treats in the past week:

And today was Jamie's birthday so we invited her kids over to play so she could have the morning to herself. The big kids played school upstairs while the little girls played babies downstairs but I couldn't get a picture of their classroom because they big kids locked the door! Then they colored & made birthday cards for their mom:

before we headed outside:

We are loving this unseasonably warm weather in February! In fact, we don't have much planned this weekend besides soccer practice tonight & a soccer game tomorrow, so I am sure we will spend even more time outside over the next few days.
