Spring soccer has officially begun. I think I have already posted a picture of her practicing, but they had their first game last weekend. She was so excited that games were starting up again! Sadie loves playing with her friends, but she really has a competitive spirit & loves getting out there & running around. Coach Jeremy is back with 6 of the original girls. We've kind of had 2 open positions that seem to rotate in 2 new girls every season, but this year 2 girls who are neighbors joined our team & since they already knew each other, they adjusted a little easier:
You can tell they are older & this is their 4th season playing together because they are really playing good together as a team. Since it was the first game, I tried to take a few pictures & Bryan took some video, but the rest of the season I will sit back & enjoy:
The girls did good, in fact a little too good! I lost track of the score but I think it was somewhere around 20-0 & I am not exaggerating :( Since there are 8 girls they all get to play 2 quarters each but Sadie only played 1 1/2. We were winning by so much, that they pulled her in the last quarter to give the other team a chance. I think she scored 5 goals but for the most part, all of them did good & several scored:
We lucked out & had beautiful weather for February so I hope this warm weather trend continues so we can cheer the girls on from the sideline comfortably:
I have a feeling we better enjoy this soccer season with only 1 game per weekend because we might be juggling 2 soccer games next fall when Sophie starts playing!
