Another fall tradition we have is the pumpkin farm. I have taken the girls every single year & I was adamant about going this year because I knew it would be the last time I have to take both of the girls together since Sadie starts school next year. I tried to wait until closer to Halloween so it would feel more like fall. We did have a cool front so it was a little cooler, but we also got a lot of rain so it was a muddy mess out there :(
We met Jamie & her kids so as soon as we got there, we had to take pictures:
Next we went to feed the animals:
The girls were professionals since they had just fed the animals at the fair!
Sadie was most excited about the hay maze & we attempted it but it was a disaster. It was so muddy we could hardly even walk in the front of it so I can't imagine how muddy it is must have been inside.
Instead, we took a hay ride. These pictures crack me up because everyone was excited except for Sadie. She really wanted to sit in the back but everyone else was already sitting in the front:
She is making the same face in my picture & Jamie's! Eventually she cheered up & I got a good one of the 3 of us:
When we got off, there were some hay bales painted like spiders & pigs so of course they asked for another picture:
And on our way to pick pumpkins, they wanted to take more pictures by the photo props:
Finally, we hit the pumpkin patch & let each of them choose a pumpkin to take home:
You can see all of the standing water in the background. I made the mistake of letting them wear their twinkle toes & they were a muddy mess! I had a whole lot of fun cleaning those later that afternoon :(
It was a fun day & perfect weather. I am truly going to miss taking them to the pumpkin patch when they get older! And thanks Jamie for meeting us out there. Our kids always have fun together:
