College Game Day

We had a quick holiday weekend but it sure was a fun one! We had planned on going to my parent's house on Friday but Sadie has soccer practice that night & then we had a birthday party Saturday morning, so we didn't make it to Conroe until Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, we left the girls with my parents while Bryan & I drove to Austin. Kind of weird to have a football game on Sunday night, but we didn't care - we were just excited for game day!

My mom & my sister made the girls matching UT dresses & they are too cute! And perfect to wear to church on game day, right?!

The picture was kind of dark so it's hard to see, but you can probably get an idea for how cute they were! Of course we had to take one family picture before we hit the road:

We got there around lunchtime & met some friends for lunch at Matt's El Rancho. The weather was perfect & we ate out on the patio. This is actually one of Bryan's clients who lives in Montana. His family was here for the holiday weekend so it was fun getting to visit with him & meet his wife:

Then we headed towards the University Co-op, which is the best bookstore in town & my favorite place to shop! I realized Sophie had a whole longhorn wardrobe since they were all of Sadie's old outfits, but Sadie didn't have anything :( So we might have picked her up a few things. But when we walked in, they had an alumni wall & Bryan just had to sign it:

Want to see a close up of what he signed?

S to the 3rd - that's his thing that he came up with. Get it - Shaye, Sadie & Sophie?!

Eventually we walked campus & met up with friends at a tailgate. It actually started raining on us as we were walking in to the game, but it was a quick shower. After we scored our first touchdown, it did the same thing, followed by a rainbow:

Not nearly as pretty in my picture as it was in person! It actually made the game pretty enjoyable for opening weekend. It stayed cool throughout the evening.

For those who didn't see the game or hear about it, it was AMAZING! Probably one of the best home games we have been to. We won in double over time!!!! Let's just say we might have had a fun time celebrating with 102,000 of our closest friends!

We technically didn't have tickets with Dave & Adriana but found seats by each other which made the game even more fun :)

The best part of the night might have been our walk back to the car through campus when they lit the tower orange:

We have had a rough few years so I am hoping this is a sign of good things to come because we deserve a good year! Unfortunately, we won't be able to go to as many games as we would like now that the girls are older & have soccer on Saturdays, but we always have a great time when we get to sneak away. It is the perfect date night:

Thanks Mimi & Doc for watching the girls & Hook 'Em Horns!
