Meet the Teacher

Pre-school officially starts next week & we are on the count down! This morning we got to go up there to meet their teachers & they were so excited, they probably could have spent the weekend inside the building waiting for class Tuesday morning :)

Let's start with Sadie. She is officially in pre-kindergarten at Sonshine Academy:

This will be her 4th year there & obviously she loves it! I will confess I was extremely disappointed when I got the call from her teacher last week. Sadie was in the older 1's, 2's & 3's, but this year she was moved down to the younger 4's so will not be with most of her friends. It is extremely frustrating that she has been with the same kids for the past 3 years & all of them get to stay together & she will not be with them :( Long story, but basically there are several new students who have never been to pre-school before & are older who took her spot. And there are several kids who are repeating pre-school & being held back from kindergarten who also took her spot. As you can see, they mostly divide the kids by age & even though she has an early December birthday, that is considered a younger student.

On a positive note, her teacher is really nice & Sadie adapts well so I think she will do great! Here she is with Mrs. Chase:

Sophie will be starting her 2nd year at Sonshine School & she will be in the older 2's. Since she has a December birthday also, she is following directly in Sadie's footsteps :) She was so excited to see most of her friends from last year, including her best friend Abby:

And she gets to be with KJ again, which is fun for the big sisters & for the moms:

Her teacher is Mrs. Matkoff & we know her from MOPS so that made me even more excited!

We already have everything ready for school & these girls are literally counting down the days! They were even more excited when they got back to school cards in the mail from Mimi & Doc:

So excited they rolled around with their cards & money doing gymnastics on the floor :) They both got $5 & I told them we could go buy an ice cream or sno cone after their first day.
