Weekend Wrap Up

We have an awesome water park at our rec center here in town & somehow we have never taken the girls there. I have been talking about it all summer so we finally made plans to meet another family there Friday night. The girls took early naps, I packed a picnic dinner & we loaded the car all of us wearing our bathing suits & ready to go. As soon as we start driving that way, the weather turns :( I thought we could still go & enjoy the indoor water park but apparently it is hooked up to the same system as the outdoor water park & since it had been lightening, they had shut everything down for the evening. The girls were so disappointed. But luckily it was only cloudy on our side of town. We never really got any bad weather, just a few sprinkles, so we had our picnic dinner at home & swam in the back yard instead:

 

 

And you know what made our picnic even better? Ice cream sundaes:

 

 

You can't bring those in your picnic! It ended up being a good night to stay home because we turned on the tv, warmed up the hot tub & watched the Olympics all night:

 

 

Saturday morning we had a birthday party:

 

 

The girls always have fun at birthday parties! I just have a hard time shopping for little boys :) Sophie might have enjoyed the cupcake the most:

 

 

When we got home from the party, my parents were there. Bryan & I went away for the night while they watched the girls. When we left, Sadie was playing games with Mimi & Doc:

 

 

Apparently she wanted to play games all weekend long! They did jump in the pool that night & we got a picture from Sadie before she went to bed:

 

 

The next morning they went to church, lunch & then Bryan & I came home. It was a quick weekend get away but I know the girls had fun with their grandparents & I'm sure Mimi & Doc loved spending extra time with the girls:
