Staycation

Bryan & I had a free night at hotel that was going to expire if we didn't use it soon, so Bryan planned a quick getaway to Dallas this past weekend. We literally left on Saturday afternoon & came home on Sunday afternoon, so it was a quick trip but so worth it!

The hotel surprised us with a large corner room so we had a great view of the city. And Bryan surprised me with flowers:

He ordered them & had them delivered to the room so they were already there when we got there. He hasn't done anything like that in a while so I was definitely surprised! Even more surprised when I saw the spelling of my name:

I have never seen it spelled like that before!

We went to the gym & worked out together. I know people think it's odd we do that on vacation, but the hotel gyms are so nice & that is a hobby we never get to do together. Then we went to the roof top pool to relax & enjoy the view:

We went to a late dinner:

We usually put the girls to bed at 8:00, not go to dinner at 8:00!

For some reason I always sleep great at a hotel - don't know if it's the dark room or comfy bed but either way I enjoyed it! We slept in the next morning & then walked to brunch:

Bryan has eaten here for lunch & since it was close, we thought we would try it & I loved it! It had the cutest little patio & all of the twinkling lights in the trees were on during the day. Thank goodness we had a "cool" front blow in this weekend because it made our walk & brunch more enjoyable.

Before we headed home, we made one last stop:

We have always wanted to visit the George Bush Library but we have never taken the time. And we knew it wasn't something the girls would enjoy so we thought we would take advantage of the free babysitting & visit while we were already down there:

We only spent a few hours going through it but we really enjoyed it!

To be honest, we hadn't really done a quick get away in town before but it really was nice having a break from the girls but not being gone too long. And it gave us some free time to do something local that we wouldn't with the girls. Thanks Mimi & Doc for spending the night with them!
