Soccer Camp

When I was planning camps for Sadie this summer, she definitely wanted to attend a soccer camp. But I had 2 concerns. First, I was determined to find an indoor camp because who wants to go to an outdoor soccer camp every day for a week for 4 hours when it is 100 degrees outside?! Also, I wanted to schedule it later in the summer so the camp would be a refresher course for fall soccer. We invited all of the girls on her team to go & 4 other girls signed up as well. They finally had camp this week & turns out all of the girls loved it:

It was a big camp but they had several student helpers so they divided into smaller groups a lot. Apparently Sadie & Kenzie were always together:

I was hoping they would learn some more technical moves but was really excited to hear Sadie say that she learned how to pass the ball to Kenzie so she can help her score! What great teamwork!

It was a long morning but they provided snacks every day & they passed out popsicles when camp was through every day:

They even shared popsicles with the younger siblings:

Yesterday they passed out t-shirts to all of the campers & asked them to wear them today for their group photo:

Today was their last day & they got medals so the girls were pretty proud:

I had planned a pool party at our house after camp today but the weather decided not to cooperate so we just took the kids out to eat instead:

I didn't know what to expect for our first sports camp but it more than delivered! For the price, I felt it was the best spend of money. They got 2 snacks every day, plus a popsicle, t-shirts & medals. Sadie came home exhausted every afternoon, which means she had a great time! And I asked her if she liked this better or gymnastics camp better & she said this.

We officially start practice for her team next week & then their first game is in 3 weeks. Last year their season was only 8 weeks but this year it is 10 weeks & we are ready. All 7 of them will be back & they are not giving us any new team members so I think it will be a fun fall season.

Go Sweet Cleats!
