New Year's 2014

2013 ended pretty eventful for our family since we welcomed Sophie Claire & celebrated Christmas, but so far 2014 has been pretty uneventful. We had a very low key New Year's eve - in fact it was very similar to the way we celebrated it back in 2012 when Sadie was born. Bryan ordered food to go at a local restaurant & we enjoyed a quiet family dinner at home. This year he even went to Marble Slab Creamery & picked up some ice cream for dessert :) Other than that, we watched tv & hit the bed early since we tend to get woken up throughout the night. Although I will brag a little because Sophie turned 2 weeks on Tuesday & she slept for almost 8 hours straight! Talk about a new year's surprise! I fed her about midnight, had her asleep before 1:00 & then she didn't wake up until almost 9:00 the next morning. I guess my new year's resolution should be for that to happen on a regular basis!

New Year's day was pretty relaxing also. We went over to Sherry & Robert's house for lunch & we ate our black eyed peas. Some of Bryan's extended family was there so it was nice to visit with everyone:

Sadie always has fun going somewhere new, especially when there are toys available. But she had other ventures in mind - similar to her parents:

I think she was worried about all the extra pounds she may have put on during the holidays with all of yummy eating she has been doing!

And this little diva continued to sleep her way through most of the commotion:

But everyone loves passing her around:

Both days were the perfect start to the new year. I look forward to savoring every moment of 2014 with both of our girls & my favorite hubby!
