Sophie has had a few baths since we have been home from the hospital, but she's not quite sure if she likes them yet. Since she still has part of her umbilical cord, we can't soak her in water yet so we have been doing sponge baths. The good news is that we learned a trick with Sadie - my Mom bought a small space heater & we had it running on Sadie the entire time. That space heater has been sitting idle for the past 2 years until we used it again for Sophie's bath. Her dad gave her first bath while big sister Sadie watched:
Please forgive the blue tub. We gave Sadie's bath tub to my Mom so she could have one at her house & then I was going to get a new one with gift card money we got from our shower, but my friend who delivered at Baylor recently told me not to buy one because the hospital sends you home with one. They did & it's a really nice tub, but they were out of pink so we got stuck with blue. Sorry Sophie!
She did awesome when we had her on her towel to dress & undress because she loved the heat blowing on her, but poor thing did not like the cold water! A few days later we did bath time again with Bryan's parents & pretty much got the same reaction:
Her skin looks really pretty these days since we have washed off the flaky layer that shed. And I love the way she smells after we are finish! As much as I enjoy the tender baby days, I kind of look forward to the days when she & Sadie can take baths together - I can only imagine how much fun bath time will be!
