Date Night

I can't believe it happened already - Bryan & I went out for our first date night without Sadie & Sophie! Sadie was born on December 8 & I checked my calendar & it looks like Bryan & I went out for the first time without her on January 28. We just went out for a nice dinner one night & then came home. This time Sophie was born on December 17 & we went out on January 24 - so I guess it was a little sooner. Everyone says it is easier the second time around & I guess it was, but I was still hesitant to leave her. Luckily Bryan's parents were here so both of my girls were in good hands :)

 

I wouldn't say our first date back was what I had anticipated, but we still enjoyed some time out of the house. We went to the City of Frisco's Chamber of Commerce Awards Gala. Bryan is a board member for the Frisco Education Foundation & they were up for an award & they actually won! Since Bryan has gotten a lot more involved with the city & the school district over the past couple of years, we actually saw a lot of people we knew. I think we spent most of the night visiting but we did enjoy a nice meal. I am also a member of the Frisco Women's League & we were nominated for an award also, but we lost. But I enjoyed seeing several of those women there also.

 

My biggest complaint of the evening was that I had to find something to wear for cocktail attire. Normally that is not a problem & I like to dress up, but when you just had a baby a month ago, I was worried nothing would fit. Thank goodness I had a little black dress that worked good enough but I was definitely cold all night since it was in the 20's outside :(

 

 

Doesn't my husband look handsome?! He is training for a half marathon in March & he is in great shape. Hopefully I will be able to join him with my work outs soon - I am ready to wear all of my normal clothes again!
