Sadie's Safari

As you recall, Sadie actually turned two back in December but her birthday party was cancelled because we had a pretty bad ice storm. The next week Sophie joined us, so unfortunately Sadie's party got cancelled & pushed back for a while. We finally had it on Saturday & she had a blast! Since Sophie still hasn't been vaccinated, we left her at home with my mom. An indoor play gym full of toddlers is probably not the safest place for Sophie right now! The good news for Sadie is that she got our full attention & she loved every ounce of it :)

Her party was at:

And this is what it looks like when you walk in:

We have been there several times & it is one of her favorite places to go. I tried to get pictures of most of her friends as they arrived. Of course this is a two year old birthday party so most of her friends had to bring their parents along :)

Of course that didn't last because I was busy chasing Sadie around! I did do a better job of catching most of the families in action with their kiddos:

We started off the party with animal rides. The kids all waiting patiently as they took turns riding an electric zebra or elephant:

They tried to let Sadie go first but she was scared (no surprise there!) so we let some of the other kids go & after she watched them she finally worked up the courage to conquer the zebra!

Then they headed to the safari train where they all got to ride together & learn about all of the exotic animals in the jungle:

Next it was off to the Jungle Room so we could have lunch! Yet again, the kids waited patiently while their parents got their plates ready:

A couple minutes later & it looked like this:

Messy toddlers with busy mommies! The menu included pizza & juice boxes - Sadie's favorite!

Afterwards we celebrated with cake - cookie cake to be exact! I had a few big ones made since we had so many people & a small one just for Sadie :)

It's a good thing we practiced on Sadie's real birthday because she was a pro when it came time to blowing out her candles - she blew out one at a time just perfectly:

After we wiped the kids off, they were free to run around the entire jungle on their own. There were ball pits, slides, miniature golf & so much more! Sadie spent most of her time running around with Alexa & she was addicted to the trampoline:

This was my first time to host a birthday party at a location other than my house & even though it may have been a little more expensive, it was worth every penny. I didn't have to decorate at all because the venue was already decorated. All I did was provide the paper plates & napkins. All of the pizza & drinks was provided by the venue as well, so I only had to worry about the cake. And we had a party hostess who did everything from set up to clean up. I was able to fully enjoy the party with no hostessing distractions. I had originally planned it this way since I knew I would be 9 months pregnant, but even though I wasn't pregnant anymore, I still enjoyed being able to spend time with Sadie.

Thank you to all of our friends & family who were able to come - Sadie is blessed to have each of you in her life!
