Sophie & I were officially discharged from the hospital on Thursday afternoon & we were excited to head home! First we had to get Sophie dressed & she was fortunate enough to wear the same gown that her big sister wore home from the hospital:
It may have been a little big, but she looked beautiful! Bryan bought this outfit & gave it to me at one of my baby showers for Sadie.
Next, we had to put her in our car seat for the first time:
As you can see, she wasn't crazy about getting dressed or getting in her car seat! I think she was nice & warm at the hospital & didn't want to leave :) By the way, this is also the same car seat that Sadie sat in until she was one.
Of course we had to take family pictures as we documented our departure:
Finally, we made it down to our car. You can't really see Sophie in this first picture, but she was there all nice & bundled. It was actually 70 degrees outside but it was really windy.
She loved the car ride! She was a little fussy while Bryan carried her from the hospital room to the car, but she quickly quieted down the minute he started driving:
When we got home Sadie was waiting outside for us! She had been at school all day, so we made sure to arrive home right after she got there :)
She was so proud of her little sister! In fact, she couldn't wait to show us the baby announcement sign that Mimi & Doc put in our yard:
And we were even more surprised to walk in & see the house all decorated with goodies!
Bryan's parents & his grandmother came back over that night & we celebrated our first family meal together while everyone passed Sophie around :) We also had a couple of neighbors drop by:
That's the fun part about having a baby around Christmas - you get to sit around enjoying all of the wonderful food & Christmas lights while lots of visitors drop by :) We look forward to enjoying the rest of our Christmas holiday with friends, family & both of our girls:
