Settling At Home......

We have been home for almost 4 days & I can't believe how fast time is going by already! Sophie will be one week old tomorrow. I think it feels even busier since it's the holidays & we have had company. I told Bryan that as much as I love Christmas, I am almost ready for January just so things will slow down & get back to normal. Of course, I am not sure what our new normal will be with an infant & a toddler!

I have taken a couple of cute pictures that I thought would be fun to share. First, I found these little feet dangling as someone was holding Sophie the other night - too precious!

I also found Daddy sleeping with Sophie under the glow of the Christmas lights the other night. It was such a peaceful moment:

And speaking of sleeping, my sister took this adorable photo while she was holding her the other day:

She is still a good sleeper so far - please keep your fingers crossed it continues! She has mostly been sleeping in the bassinet on top of our pack & play, but I finally put her in the nap nanny last night. Sadie loved the nap nanny & Sophie seemed to enjoy it last night also. She stayed awake for almost an hour while I folded laundry & cooked dinner in the kitchen & she just watched me :)

Sadie still loves her baby sister. She wakes up every morning & goes to bed every night saying "baby, baby". We can't get her to say her name yet but we are practicing! She loves helping us change her diapers. In fact every time we tell her it's time to change Sophie's diaper, she brings us the diaper & the wipe. And we just introduced the pacifier the other day & every time it falls out or we aren't using it, Sadie says "Uh-oh!" & she tries to place it back in her mouth. For the record, Sophie will take the paci every now & then, but not like Sadie did. That girl loved (& still loves) her paci! But one of my favorite moments is when I saw this:

We put Sophie down for a nap so Sadie brought her pack & play over right beside Sophie's pack & play & she put her baby to sleep & covered her with a blanket - just like Sophie! It was so stinking cute!

And speaking of Sadie, she finally got her final birthday present from Bryan's side of the family. She was supposed to get this at her birthday party, but since it was cancelled Grammy & Grandpa hadn't had a chance to bring it over. It was probably good timing that it was delivered after we were home from the hospital because it was something new for her to enjoy while we have been pre-occupied with a baby :)

In case you can't tell what it is, it is a washer & dryer! She is a mommy in the making & is constantly following me around the house taking care of our babies & doing laundry. It is the cutest little piece that even has a real timer that beeps when the laundry is done :)

Finally, we had a busy morning yesterday because we had our newborn photo shoot at the house!

I love that they bring everything to me instead of me going into the studio. It is so much easier to do it this way with a baby! Sophie did awesome & they were here for almost 4 hours. We only had to stop once to nurse her & then she was good to go again.

We had a lot of fun digging through props & picking colors - hats, headbands, etc.

When they were finished with Sophie's individual shots, we added Sadie for a big sister/little sister photo. This shot was much harder because it is hard to get a two year old to sit still or give a kiss or hug or hold a baby for that long! For the most part, she did as good as we could have expected for her age. Here is a sneak peak of her getting ready:

They took a lot of pictures, so hopefully a few of them will turn out good. All I need is one or two good photos & I will be a happy mommy!
