Children's Museum

As I mentioned, even though Bryan was officially sworn in Monday night, he had already been participating in FISD events for the past month or so. This past weekend he went to the Texas Association of School Boards Conference which was held in downtown Fort Worth. Since he was staying in a hotel over there, Sadie & I thought we would drive over & stay with him. We don't go to Fort Worth as often, so I wanted to take advantage of having a place to stay while we did stuff on that side of town.

I started by taking Sadie to the Children's Museum, which is located inside the Fort Worth Science & History Museum:

Sadie loved it! We parked her stroller & she spent about an hour running around & checking everything out. First she found this computer desk that was just her size:

I had to practically drag her away because she was obsessed with it!

Next we headed to the grocery store. This is where most of the bigger kids were playing, so all of the shopping carts were taken & most of the store shelves were empty. I did find a little grocery basket for her to carry & she found a few random items to put in her basket, but overall, she got bored here since we couldn't find a grocery cart for her:

They also had an outside area full of water features & she had a fun time trying to spray the water guns!

But she had the best time in the medical area. She loved the ambulance & waited patiently for her time to drive it:

When we left the Children's Museum, we strolled around the other exhibits & I think she enjoyed looking at everything just as much. She saw dinosaurs:

She learned who Elvis was:

She learned about the solar system in the Planetarium:

and about the trail drives that used to go through the Fort Worth Stock Yards:

We even learned about natural gas. I had to take pictures of this exhibit because my Dad works at a natural gas pipeline & his office looked exactly like the fake one they had on display!

Before we left we stopped in the Innovators Lab, which is basically for older kids. There were some pretty neat gadgets in there, most of them were things I didn't want Sadie to touch, until she found this light wall - she was obsessed with it!

We had a fun time going somewhere new & I am glad it was an educational trip as well. Thanks Bryan for letting us crash your hotel room & play while you had to work :( Maybe next time you can join us for the fun stuff!
