Story Time with Santa

I know what you must be thinking - Christmas, already? But I have to admit that we already have the outside of our house decorated for the holidays. In fact, over 50% of our neighborhood already has. At least we are not turning them on yet - not until after Thanksgiving :)

But we did go to the mall for a play date yesterday & Sadie got to meet Santa for the first time! First, we met her friends Byron & Tatum for lunch in the food court:

Then we met up with Jordan at The North Pole. Santa read 2 Christmas stories to all the kids:

Unfortunately all the big kids took the front row seats but that's OK because Sadie & Jordan were more interested in playing. In fact, they loved the snow!

After the big kids left, we tried to get a picture of the kids with Santa:

Sadie was really intrigued by him - I don't know if it was the white beard?

Of course he did bribe her - he gave her a coin for the carousel! I was more excited than she was because we had never done the carousel before. I was a little hesitant because once we got there I realized how fast the carousel goes...... But we found the right horse & got her buckled in. At first she didn't know what to think:

Then she realized that she should hold on with both hands when it started moving:

The more we went around, the more she smiled:

And then she must have felt really comfortable because she held on with one hand as she started waving at everyone!

Every day I enjoy trying something new with her & I know the whole Christmas holiday will be entertaining since she is old enough to do more this time around. If only we can make it through Thanksgiving......
