Thanksgiving Road Trip

We kicked off our fall break by hitting the road for a 9 day road trip! When the girls got out of school on Friday, we headed to Arkansas for soccer. We have mostly taken turns with Sadie this fall but since Sophie didn't have any sports, we all 4 got to go! It was a beautiful drive this time of year & since she didn't have a game until Saturday afternoon, we woke up & headed to Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville. They have indoor galleries of American art but they also had walking trails with outdoor art:

See how pretty it is? We were actually about a week or two late because most of the leaves had already fallen but the colors were gorgeous! We even saw a deer while we were walking around:

There was a few siblings there this trip so Sophie & Charlotte spent a lot of time downstairs at the art classrooms:

Levi joined them also & then Bryan took all of the younger siblings to Sonic to grab lunch while the older girls had to get to the soccer field early:

One of the moms organized a gift exchange at the Dollar Tree & the girls had so much fun:

There was a beautiful Christmas pop up store across the street from our hotel so I had fun shopping too!

We even found a fun cookie restaurant that made gluten free so of course we had to try them:

Saturday night we had a team dinner followed by team karaoke! You should see the videos - ha!

Coach T jumped up there & they even let the younger siblings participate too:

Of course we couldn't end the night without dessert so ice cream at Braum's it was:

She had a game Saturday afternoon & again on Sunday so we finally got home really late Sunday night. Bryan's sweet cousin, Carter, who lives in Arkansas came to her game & that made her day:

We met him for dinner on Sunday at a local pizza joint on campus at University of Arkansas on our way home. So fun!

Monday morning we woke up & headed to Conroe to spend Thanksgiving with my family. It was a great week away! We ate a lot, visited, played games, watched a Christmas movie, made some Christmas crafts and even squeezed in some family pictures:

Big shout out to my sister for taking pictures because apparently I took 0 while I was there!

We left around lunch time on Friday to drive to Austin. My Dad came with us & we went to the UT vs. Texas Tech football game that night. It was perfect fall weather for football & an amazing game:

It was senior night, our last home game, our last time to play in the Big XII - so much excitement! This is the only game we can go to with the girls every year since they don't have sports over Thanksgiving & they had so much fun! I found all of the selfies on Sadie's phone:

They had a really cool drone show during the 2nd quarter & I couldn't help but take pictures of all of it:

Usually we are good sports but Tech talked a lot of trash before the game so we had no problem with them running up the score! Many of the Tech fans left early & honestly, a lot of Longhorn fans did also since we killed them. Not us - we like to stay all the way until the end when the play the school song. This win secured us a spot in the Big XII championship game this weekend in Dallas. Guess who will be there?!

It's been a long time since the horns have been any good so this was an exciting time & I am so glad the girls got to experience it:

Saturday morning we kept the momentum going by attending our first Longhorn volleyball game:

We've been to football, boys & girls basketball, but never volleyball, although we watch a lot of it on tv. They play in a small gym so it was sold out, crowded & full of energy! They played Texas Tech again & swept them in 3 wins:

This win secured them the Big XII championship trophy so it was equally as exciting. We also met up with Bryan's fraternity brother, Kirti & his family so it was fun to see them also:

After the game, we had Mexican food on campus, shopped at the Co-op & stopped by Insomnia Cookies on our way out of town. It was a fun, quick weekend in Austin, but the perfect way to end our fall break. Cheers to fall & Hook 'Em Horns!
