Life Lately - April

It's been a fun month as we transition from winter to spring. I say that because one week we have spring weather & then the next week it decides to turn cold again. Personally, I am tired of the cold & ready for it to warm up for good! But we've been busy sprucing up the outside. We actually filed an insurance claim from a hail storm last year so we just got a new roof, new gutters, the exterior painted, etc. and I just finished planting our front yard this week. Between all of that, the girls have kept us busy. At church they have their derby car race every April. Neither car won, but they still had fun:

Sophie had their monthly girl scout meeting at the park:

Lots of spring soccer for both girls, even though Sadie had 2 weeks off for her concussion. She was finally medically cleared to return to play last week:

She got tired sitting on the bench! Sadie came home with a golden ticket to the Griffin Gator band, which means she officially found out what instrument she got for next year......... the oboe! That was her first choice & they only have 2 in the band so it was a big deal she got picked:

The girls had their last GMP pep rally at school for the year so that officially meant Sadie's last GMP as spirit captain:

Their school also had their annual spring carnival, another last for Sadie:

I didn't see them half of the night but they both requested I video their flips!

Sophie had a birthday party this month:

And she had a date night shopping with her Grammy - that was one of her Christmas presents:

My parents came to visit one weekend & they brought a few surprise visitors with them:

We watched a lot of sports & thankfully that was a weekend we had nice weather so we opened up the backyard for our first weekend of swimming & cooking out:

Bryan & I have had some fun this month also. Our friend had a huge surprise 40th birthday party for his wife downtown Dallas so it was fun to spend the night in the city with a bunch of our friends:

Finally, Bryan & I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary! 19 years - can you believe it?! My sweet husband planed a surprise trip to Vegas & had dinner reservations planned for us, but the timing just didn't work out with everything we had going on, so we had a date night here instead:

We went to a new restaurant that had been on my list for a while & I loved it! They were super accommodating to my gluten allergy, they had live aerial entertainment, our server was amazing, the food was delicious & there was some good people watching. Ha!

As we were leaving, we saw Bryan's college roommate & one of his best friends from UT, who happened to be one of the first friends I met over 20 years ago. Small world running into him while we were celebrating our anniversary!

If we can just make it through 3 more weeks of school because we are ready for summer!
