Life Lately - December

Wow, what a month! I thought my blogging had slowed down until we got to this month. Between their birthdays & Christmas festivities, I can't keep up! The girls have their last day of school today, their winter parties are this afternoon & then we are off for a few weeks. Woo-hoo! We are looking forward to the break! In the meantime, here are a few other things we have been up to this month. 

While Sadie was at 5th grade camp, Sophie got a dinner date with one of her besties:

She also had a sleepover with another bestie during Sadie's birthday party. They were so excited to go to her brother's basketball game & they literally cheered on the side for his team:

Speaking of Sadie's birthday, we took her friends out to eat lunch after church also & she wanted hibachi:

Both of the girls have good friends we go to church with but everyone is so busy between activities & school, that we really only see them at church so it was fun to spend time with them outside of church:

Sophie is learning how to write in cursive in school & her teacher sent me this picture. I kept it because I love that you can see her Christmas nails!

Sadie's class had a kindness Christmas cookie exchange this week that the kids loved:

Our elf, Ellie, just happened to bring the girls special cookies that same day:

Thank goodness Ellie remembered we are a gluten free household! 

I've had a few Christmas parties myself. Bryan & I went downtown one evening for a dinner & presentation from my alma mater. Of course I didn't take a picture, but we had a fun evening dressing up & going into the city. We did go to our church life group party together:

Although we only got a picture with the girls! A cold front blew in that night & it was storming outside, so it ended up being a pretty low key, casual event, but we still had a great time getting together with friends. 

Finally, we had our PTA Christmas party at a friend's house which was a blast also!

It's kind of a bummer the girls went to school so late, but we have been trying to squeeze in a few activities this week while we countdown to Christmas, including some Christmas baking:

Bryan has been traveling so we made his favorite white chocolate covered pretzels to surprise him when he got back! Only a few more days until Christmas & these girls are ready!
