New Year's in Austin 2022

Since we spent Christmas with Bryan's family, we drove to Austin for New Year's to spend the weekend celebrating the holidays with my family. Bryan golfed our first day there so we took the kids to play putt putt golf:

There is a place in the city that has been open since 1948 called Peter Pan Mini Golf & I have always wanted to go there. The kids had fun & the weather was perfect. That night, we left the kids with Mimi & Doc while Nat & I went on a double date:

We thought it might be fun to go out the night before new year's eve so it wasn't crowded or overpriced! Ha! The next day was new year's eve so we stayed home & never left the house. We opened gifts, let the kids played & had a great time at home:

Later that afternoon, Nat switched up the decorations on her tree & we were ready to celebrate the new year:

Chef Daniel smoked ribs all day & they were delicious:

After dinner, it was time to celebrate! We had sparkling juice, noise makers, party hats, confetti & so much more:

We put the kids to bed around 10:30 but the adults didn't make it much longer, that is until our neighbors started popping fireworks. I wouldn't say I was "celebrating" that late at night, but I did hear fireworks for at least an hour.

On new year's day, we surprised the kids & took them to the Frank Erwin Center on campus to watch the Texas Longhorns men's basketball game:

Bryan found cheap tickets behind the basket & the kids loved sitting that close! Not only were they close to the action, but also Hook 'Em & the cheerleaders:

Kason caught a shirt & while he was celebrating & dancing, him & Sophie made the big screen:

After the game, we all got to storm the court to celebrate their victory. The kids had posters & got autographs & pictures:

It was the best way to kick off 2022 - hook 'em horns!
