Well, I spent the past week blogging about our spring break trip so guess I can finally switch gears & talk about something else! Although, I don't have much to share, just random acts of life over the past few weeks. First up, Sadie went to a birthday party at the movie theater with friends from school:
Sophie went to a birthday party as well, but somewhere none of us had ever been before - iFly! She got to go sky diving with her friends:
I was so proud of her for trying because she was really nervous. In fact, I think it scared her because all of the other kids went twice but she only wanted to go once:
We also celebrated my birthday last week. It wasn't too eventful since it was on a Thursday, but I did enjoy going to brunch & getting pedicures with my friends:
The girls always loved dressing up for school. On this day they dressed up as one of their favorite book characters so Sophie chose Fancy Nancy:
Third grade had a living museum last week & Sadie got to be Sacagawea:
They spent weeks working on this at school. They got books, researched online, wrote a report, made a poster & dressed up in character. Usually they host this event at the school but this time they did it via zoom & we were so proud of Sadie. She wasn't nervous at all, spoke clearly & had it all memorized:
One afternoon we went to brunch & the girls couldn't pass up this photo opportunity:
We have played a lot of soccer recently. Almost all of our games in February were cancelled due to rain or the winter storm, so we have had a lot of make up games on top of regularly scheduled games:
We even had both sets of grandparents come visit one weekend for my birthday & to watch the girls:
Both of my parents finally got both of their vaccination shots so they were able to come & be normal again! No masks, we dropped our guard about being careful around each other - it was awesome! And my mom surprised us & cooked up a storm to stock our fridge:
We still don't have a kitchen, so I have been trying to make everything in the microwave or the crock pot. I have not been able to cook or bake in almost two months so to have this many home made meals is AMAZING! She even fried up a couple of pounds of bacon, made sausage balls & 2 quiche so we would have breakfast also. Thank you mom - we cannot thank you enough!
Finally, the girls are excited for Easter this week. Last Friday night, our friend's church "egged" us:
They woke up early Saturday morning & got to hunt for eggs in the front yard before we headed out to our soccer games for the day:
I have a feeling there might be a few more egg hunts in our future this week!
