Last spring, Sophie's girl scout troop planned an outing to go horse back riding. One of the girls in her troop has a grandmother who lives about 45 minutes North in the country but has 7 horses on her land. The girls were going to learn about horses, how to take care of them, how to feed them & then learn to ride them. Of course that got cancelled, but they finally rescheduled it for this past weekend:
Isn't it beautiful?! We picked up the girls Friday afternoon after school & went straight there. Thank goodness it was a perfect fall day. The girls divided into groups & they took turns playing, coloring bandanas & eating:
They loved getting to take turns brushing the horses & Sophie even asked if she could braid his tail:
They even had carrots & got to feed the horses:
Finally, it was time to ride the horses! The girls had fun jumping the fence instead of opening the gate so the horses wouldn't get out:
Sophie was a little apprehensive at first because she was scared to ride the horse, but surprisingly, she hopped right on & did great:
She enjoyed it so much that she asked to ride it again:
I am so glad I got to go with them & watch her because I was so proud. She really does get nervous about trying new things:
Thank you Beth & Kimberlee for organizing such a fun outing for our little Daisy Troop:
