Last year Sophie cheered for our local pee wee football league but she did not get to attend their FFL cheer camp because we were on vacation. This year, FFL pushed everything back a month due to Covid so she finally got to attend last weekend:
I got to attend also since I am the assistant coach! Really Jamie does it all, I am just there when she needs me! We all met up outside & the girls were masked & ready to go:
Camp used to be a lot larger but they really broke it down into smaller time slots by age group. Our group was just the kinder & 1st grade girls. They made all of the girls wear their masks when they walked around, but inside they had circles on the floor where everyone was socially distanced so while they were being active, they could take their masks off:
Can you tell she was so excited to be there with all of her friends?!
At camp, they learned cheer moves, jumps, a chant & a dance. And throughout the morning, they passed out ribbons to the girls. It's pretty cute because they actually tie the ribbon in your hair by your bow. Sophie got one of the first ribbons for dancing:
At the end, all of the squads sat on the side & each group got to perform the chant & cheer that we learned:
They did so good & had so much fun! Next weekend we are having a Tiger camp just for our girls so we can teach them their half time routine. I think it's going to be a fun season with this group of girls:
Afterwards, Sophie was even more excited because she got to meet up with some of her friends from school who are on another squad:
It's going to be fun when we play their team also!
