That's right - we found paradise in our own backyard! My family came to visit last weekend so we could celebrate my niece's 8th birthday:
Natalie asked me about doing this back in the spring so of course I said yes! We basically opened our house & she bought all of the food & decorations. Zoe wanted a tie dye theme & I just happen to have a bright & colorful theme going on back there anyway so it worked perfectly:
The girls even had matching tie dye bathing suits:
Aren't they adorable?!
My brother in law's family came also so sweet Zoe had both sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins there! I was a little nervous having that many people at our house, but for the most part we kept the party outside & tried to be socially distant. The kids swam - a lot!
And we ate a lot too! We had a lot of good snacks & instead of the traditional cake & ice cream, she wanted ice cream sundaes instead! Nat set up a photo booth:
They played limbo & had a silly string fight:
We had the music blaring, different genres during the day, but at one point we had Caribbean music playing & with all our family there, for a moment we forgot we were in Texas! My favorite part of the day might have been when Bryan & Mimi made us all tropical drinks:
Strawberry daiquiris & pina coladas! They were delicious on a hot summer day:
