It's hard to imagine that we have celebrated another holiday at home just the 4 of us. In a way, I miss going to church & fellowshipping with everyone in person but on the flip side, our lazy, slower Sunday mornings at home have been good for our family also! This past Sunday morning, the girls surprised me with home made cards, a scavenger hunt & 2 pints of ice cream, including a new favorite from Blue Bell! Apparently the ice cream was from Bryan so we could have a date night at home. That pretty much sums up our date nights recently - movie & dessert in our bedroom! They also surprised me with this:
Bryan is usually pretty good at getting me flowers but this year he bought these hyacinths. Instead of being typical flowers we enjoy & then throw away, these came with 3 bulbs that I can plant in the yard! They smelled awesome & I have already planted them in the front so every spring when they come back, I will remember the year I planted them - the year we were isolated at home!
After we celebrated church at home, we celebrated at brunch. Outside of the house. I know - what?! It was the first meal we have eaten at a restaurant since we left Hawaii 2 months ago:
We haven't really ventured out yet, but we made reservations at the Cowboys Club & they did a really good job of controlling the tables by only setting reservation times so they had time to disinfect in between each sitting. Every employee had a face mask on, they opened every door, touched every elevator, etc. so we literally snuck & in & out with out much disruption. Brunch is my absolute favorite so I was beyond excited to get out! And it even gave us all an excuse to dress up again:
Afterwards we went on the patio for a while & had the place to ourselves:
I usually hate individual pictures of me, especially close ups, but Bryan took one because I wanted to display my jewelry:
Did you notice my bracelet & my necklace?! The girls made me that & it was a part of my scavenger hunt from earlier that morning.
We may have only been gone for 2 hours, but it was so nice to feel normal again! I haven't left the house without a face mask &/or gloves for a while & the girls haven't left at all so it was definitely a treat! Thank you Bryan, Sadie & Sophie for making me feel special - it will definitely be a Mother's Day I will not forget & I really look forward to seeing our pink flowers bloom every spring!
