Life Lately

Besides Easter, I am not really taking pictures anymore because it's like groundhog day over here as I'm sure it is for everyone else also. But these are a few random pictures I have taken since we have officially been home bound for the past month.

First up, we'll talk about Bryan. Luckily he has worked from home off & on for the past 15 years so this is nothing new for him. He actually enjoys it. But, he is used to going to meetings, lunches or the occasional trip every now & then so I think he is getting a little bored around here so he has gotten creative in his work spaces:

I have tried to go through my phone & text lots of random friends just to check in on everyone. The group who I am enjoying the most right now are these ladies right here:

Those are my college girlfriends! We have stayed close through the years & we try to get together once a year, but we have been texting more these days than ever & I am loving it!

We still keep pretty active with our church. One Sunday night we played virtual bingo with our life group & had so much fun:

We cook a lot - more than we ever have since we are at home all the time. We pretty much eat every single meal at home except for 1:

Usually Friday or Saturday night we place an order to go just to have a break or change it up. It's been fun having time to talk to the managers & figuring out where Sadie can & cannot eat, but to be honest, I hate food to go. I always have. I either prefer to cook & eat dinner at home or if I am going to spend the money on eating food out, I want to eat it fresh at the restaurant. It's just not the same by the time you get the food home :( I know most people disagree with me (especially Bryan!) but I am just not a fan of getting food to go or delivered.

The girls are surprisingly still getting along really well. Sadie trains for soccer almost 6 times a week if you include her 2 practices, 2 miles she runs & her 2 independent practices at home:

We have breaking news for Sophie - SHE CAN FINALLY RIDE HER BIKE WITHOUT TRAINING WHEELS!

This topic probably deserves a post on it's own because it's really a big deal. Sadie learned to ride way before kindergarten so we took off Sophie's training wheels last summer & she has been terrified. She never even wanted to try. Well, we are spending so much time outside these days & she always rides her scooter since she can't keep up with the rest of us on our walks/runs/rides with her training wheels & I think she started seeing so many other kindergarteners around the neighborhood all riding bikes without training wheels so she finally got the courage to try it. And guys - she taught herself! She literally went outside by herself & practiced for hours. She never even wanted our help & literally she just started riding by herself out of no where:

I mean it literally took her almost a year to figure it out but now that she can do it, she is great at it! Fearless, really. She looks like she has been riding for a while now even though it's only been a week. This literally has been a game changer for our family. On Easter Sunday we actually went for a 4 mile bike ride & it was so fun!

I'm trying to come up with new ideas to keep them entertained when we can't be outside so this week they had fun painting. They painted a bunch of rocks that we are going to hide on the walking trails around our neighborhood:

Finally, our schedule is definitely relaxed these days & since the sun stays out later & we all sleep a little later, the girls have been staying up a little later also & having lots of campouts & slumber parties:

As much as we are missing our friends & our activities, these 2 have definitely found ways to make up for it! I hope we always remember this extra time we spent together.
