Since we have been home for the past month, we have still stayed busy celebrating our friends' birthdays - mostly in the form of birthday parades! Our first one was for Sadie's soccer coach. Someone actually organized all of her teams to meet in a parking lot & we drove in order of age group, so Sadie's team was at the end since they are the littles. It was so fun seeing all of our soccer friends again:
A lot of girls wore their jerseys, made posters, decorated their cars & even had birthday music playing:
After this parade, we went back to our neighborhood, dropped off our car & switched to bikes to head to another parade:
There are 4 second graders who all have April birthdays so they organized a parade for them. I don't know who had more fun - Sadie, since it was 2nd graders or Sophie since she can finally ride her bike:
We also had a party for one of the neighbor girls on our street who turned 10. This is one of the friends that our girls play with outside, especially more these days while we are all stuck at home:
We also stopped by Hayden's house on her birthday:
Finally, one of our friends from our life group at church turned 40 & her husband dropped off balloons with everyone so we could surprise her with water balloons at her parade:
I think the surprise was really on us because she was prepared to battle back! Let me tell you, she got me good. She threw a water balloon & it actually landed inside our car & popped behind my back & I was soaking wet:
It was probably my favorite! I have to admit, the sign companies must be raking it in right now because we have always seen them, but now people are using them more than ever. And the parades are getting more creative the longer we are stuck at home. These are the things we will always remember when we look back on this time!
