Is it really November? I cannot believe October has finally come & gone. The month flew by as we were busy celebrating Halloween & this year was a great year! It rained the few days leading up to Halloween but we lucked out & it was beautiful & sunny the day of. But it was cold - the 2nd coldest Halloween on record! The girls were not too happy that I made them wear layers under their costume but I think they still looked cute. Introducing the good witch:
She kept saying she wanted to be a good, pretty witch, not a bad one! You can't tell in pictures, but her dress lit up at night!
Sadie was obsessed with Descendent's this year since the 3rd movie came out so she wanted to be Mal:
We learned last year that the girls don't like wigs nor having their hair colored all over, so we just did their tips. You can't really tell in the pictures but we did Sadie purple & Sophie pink:
We walked over to our annual block party & met up with all of our friends & neighbors:
The girls were especially looking forward to seeing Kenzie & KJ. Kenzie dressed up as Evie from the movie also because they are BFF's & they wanted to trick or treat together:
Of course we met up with a lot of friends, especially Sophie. This was the first year she had a lot of friends since she is finally at school with Sadie:
There were lots of Descendent costumes everywhere!
We order pizza every year for dinner & then every family brings something to share. Since it was so cold this year, I made my witch's brew, which is actually white hot chocolate & kept it warm in the crock pot:
The kids were extra antsy to go trick or treat this year since it was so cold out but of course we can't go without taking the obligatory group picture:
And this wasn't everyone because some of the kids had already ran off. Sadie went trick or treating with Kenzie & her family:
While Bryan went with Sophie & a group of her kinder friends. Even the kindergarten parents are a lot of fun:
I headed back to the house & got comfortable passing out candy on the front porch:
That's right, I had a partner in crime with me!
Eventually, the girls headed back to the house & met up. They helped pass out candy while I got to visit with some of our neighbors:
We only stayed outside until 8:30 this year, which wasn't as late as last year, but it was only 40 degrees outside & that is cold for us! But even though we went inside, we still stayed up a while because the girls had fun going through their candy loot:
It was an awesome Halloween, even better than we expected, especially considering the cooler weather we had. Until next year:
