Spooky Soccer

Along with our warrior dash being postponed, all of our regular activities outside were cancelled last weekend also. But thank goodness we signed Sadie up for a Halloween futsal soccer tournament because it was indoors:

Her coach divided the girls into 2 teams of 4 and they played 3 on 3:

She played with Jojo, Anna D & Laila. They were team orange so they got to wear their orange jerseys & we bought them orange jack-o-lantern socks to match:

This was Sadie's first time to play futsal so she didn't know what to expect, but she loved it! It is basically indoor soccer on a basketball court :) I took a few action shots just to share what it looked like:

They didn't win out the entire tournament, but at least she got to play some soccer! And it was good bonding for her & some of her team mates:

Sadie played good until their last game. She took a ball straight to the face & unfortunately, futsal balls are heavier since they play on a smaller court. They are made so they don't go as far, but when it hit her face, it hit her hard. I knew she was hurt because she was covering her face & her coach flagged us to come on the court to come get her:

It knocked her goggles off, she had a horrible headache & a bloody nose. Really bloody nose, I mean blood everywhere. Once I got her clean, they brought her ice & thankfully she felt good enough to finish out the game on the bench. This was probably the 2nd or 3rd hard hit she has taken since she joined this team :( It was a fun day & I am so proud of her for giving it her all!

On a side note, I have to give props to this little lady because she was a trooper. She might have been bored sitting inside at a soccer tournament all day, but she was a good cheerleader. It helps that they had face painting:

This week they had a Halloween themed soccer practice also. Her coach asked everyone to dress up & bring candy. At first Sadie said she wasn't dressing up because she doesn't really like to, but she came home Monday afternoon & changed her mind:

She decided to be a soccer pirate but I think she regretted it by the time we made it out to the soccer field. Another cold front was blowing in & it was raining & freezing out there :( But they still had fun. Everyone dressed up, they played lots of soccer games & then came home with a lot of candy:

Thanks Coach T for keeping soccer fun!
