Warrior Dash 2019

So our big day was supposed to be last Friday but of course the weather did not want to cooperate. After having the hottest September on record, we go straight to winter. No seasons in Texas. I really wish we had fall around here but instead we had a cold front blow threw with lots of rain & cold temperatures. Too wet & cold to be outside :( I am actually on our planning committee & it really is disappointing to put that much work in to something & than have to make changes, so instead of trying to move it inside, we just decided to postpone it:

It wasn't actually sunny yesterday, but it was dry & the temperature was perfect. It wasn't hot or cold but actually pleasant, especially since I was there for the entire day. First up, I got to help with Sophie's class. We had firecracker tattoos for all of the kids & ninja headbands so it was fun going to the classroom & getting them ready before we headed outside:

Can you tell this girl was just a little excited?!

I took a lot of pictures of her in action because she was clearly loving it!

Of course she loved the inflatable obstacle course & slide too:

That girl ran her little heart out! I think she surprised Bryan & I with how serious she took it. She didn't even slow down until it was over & she was ready for a water break:

I am so proud of this little firecracker & all of her firecracker friends:

And just for fun, like I didn't take enough pictures myself, my photographer friend took some awesome action shots as well that I just have to share. Her pictures genuinely show how excited Sophie was:

You know we can't stop there because next up was 2nd grade - here comes Hartman's Heroes:

Sadie was so proud to carry their class poster! Just look at her crew:

Her class started at the hay maze:

This is the before pic & check out the after pic - right when the race started. I love this picture!

Off they go!

Unfortunately they were the last class of the day & the inflatable decided to deflate :( So everyone got to do the Delta Force but 2nd grade. That's ok, I'm pretty sure they had fun without it. Unlike Sophie, Sadie ran the course hard & then was over it. After her water break, she took turns on the course cheering on her friends:

We are so proud of our little superhero:

And the girls were so glad that Bryan got to come watch them also:

Until next year:
