Our last full day of vacation started at the beach. This time both of the girls wanted the zayak:
The water was so clear that Sadie got snorkel gear every day & usually spent most of her time snorkeling by herself along the shore however, this morning she wanted to be pushed around with Bryan & Sophie. Until they saw a certain someone. They had been asking to get their hair braided but I told them we had to wait until later in our trip, mostly after our pictures. So when they saw the lady walking around, they went crazy. It didn't take much to convince me & before I knew it, we were sitting in the shade, under a tree while both of them got their hair braided:
This is always their favorite souvenir! They always have fun picking out their beads :)
They looked pretty cute to me!
Before we headed to the pool for the afternoon, we tried the water sports one more time. Bryan even took Sadie sailing:
Once we got settled in at the pool, we ordered lunch. They did not have macaroni & cheese on the kids menu but Sophie asked for it & they made it anyway. She was so excited!
In typical Sophie fashion, she only ate a few bites & then she swam off:
so guess who got to finish it off?!
It was pretty dang good! Too bad I didn't realize they made this earlier in our trip :)
Our last afternoon got a little cloudy, but it never rained. Actually, it was kind of nice because it cooled off so instead of spending the whole afternoon in the water, I was able to read more:
Until the girls decided we needed to make videos one last time before we left. So I spent a good 30 minutes recording their videos while they took turns jumping off the ledge:
Eventually we headed in for the evening. We cleaned up & then headed to Taikun for sushi:
Sadie was so excited to try sushi. Bryan has been saying for years that all he wants is a daughter who will go eat sushi with him & she is pretty adventurous:
but she didn't like it! Ha! I don't blame her because I don't eat sushi either. Thankfully she does like edamame & chicken fried rice so she shared my meal.
Last time we visited, we met some friends who live on the island. Long story, but we ended having play dates with them, they babysat for us & we had dinner. Bryan has kept in touch with them so they met us for dinner that night. The girls had fun having someone else to visit with at dinner:
He even surprised them with gifts! Local books about the island & blue iguana stuffed animals. They loved both! Apparently there are blue iguanas on the island, but they are going extinct & hard to find. We never saw one, but we did see green iguanas EVERY SINGLE DAY! Especially while we were eating. They can be quite aggressive!
Do you see those 2 sneaky things?! They camouflage well.
That night I couldn't help but take a picture of the girls as they went to bed. First off, the lady who braided their hair told them that it would last longer if they covered it while they slept so they put on shower caps. Also, they each had 3 stuffed animals that they had been given while on vacay:
The next morning we enjoyed a late breakfast & then took our time enjoying the resort a little longer before it was time to head to the airport:
Even though this was our 3rd time to Cayman, we still loved it. Seven Mile Beach is beautiful & they have great weather. Plus it is a safe, clean island & we were fine leaving our resort & walking to dinner every night with the girls. I have no doubt we will go back again some time :)
