After a long, rainy spring season, we are finally having beautiful weather to kick off summer. We had a wide open weekend with no sports so we enjoyed every second of this awesome weather. Sadie actually had Friday & Monday off from school, but Bryan worked on Friday so we planned a trip to the movies with a few of our friends:
Can you tell what we saw:
Aladdin! I don't know who was more excited to see it - the kids or the moms?! We did not watch The Secret Life of Pets, but the kids were so excited to see the ad for it:
We may not have had any games, but Sadie did have soccer practice & afterwards, her coach let them out early so the girls could go get ice cream together:
We are so fortunate to have found this group of girls!
On Saturday night, Bryan & I met another couple down town for dinner & we had a great time! Usually I wouldn't take a picture but we ordered some over the top desserts that were AMAZING that I couldn't help but take pictures of! First up, our rainbow cake:
I mean seriously, it came out with a sparkler candle! It was covered in gummy bears, had fresh strawberries on the side & ice cream to go with it. It was delicious!
Bryan wanted something different:
Yep, that is cotton candy & it had a glow stick inside:
He might have eaten the whole thing but we brought some cake home for the girls :)
We swam most of the weekend. In fact, we have officially opened the pool for summer & have pulled out every single pool toy & float we have. Even Bryan swam with the girls & they had a blast being thrown around by him:
On Sunday night we hosted a pool party for Sophie's soccer team & that was a bit crazy but Monday was a little more relaxing. We just had 2 other families over to swim & cook out:
I can't tell you how excited I am about this summer! First off, the kids are finally old enough to really swim on their own. I mean they could last summer, but I really had to keep my eyes on Sophie but she is pretty confident in the water this year.
It was a great weekend & a bit of tease for summer because unfortunately, Sadie has 3 more days of school left this week but I have a feeling it will be a quick week!
