Candytopia

Sadie had Monday off from school so we met up with our friends for a special treat:

This is a special exhibit that travels across the US & is only in Dallas for a few months. I saw it on the news & I have seen awesome pictures online & I knew the girls would love it. Our girls LOVE candy & I had read this place was all about bright colors, crazy themes & lots of candy. Perfect! As soon as we got there the kids were excited to see a colorful treehouse outside:

We learned some fun facts before we headed inside to our candy wonderland. For instance, this exhibit has $12 million worth of art. Whoa. They also had cameras throughout where we could take pictures & they would email us. Super cool. So first up, we went in a jungle room:

It was cute but we were kind of rushed getting through there. Next we headed to the library:

This room was kind of boring in my opinion except they had a clock that came down from the ceiling & was full of chocolate. And then we finally entered our first whimsical room with bright colors & fun music:

They had swings that the kids loved playing on:

They even had these awesome flowers that you stepped on the petal & you could actually smell different types of candies:

This was the first room that had a camera with a green scene so we were excited when we saw our picture:

And did I mention that every single room had a treasure chest full of candy?! I was wondering if it would be good candy & it was - name brand candy like Lindor chocolate, Airheads, Pixy Sticks, Gummy Bears, Lollipops & so much more. It's a good thing I brought a big purse!

The next room looked like we were floating in the sky with fluffy clouds everywhere:

But then on the other side of the room, they had this crazy retro set up with another camera that made it look like you were being sucked down a big hole. We all had fun taking different pictures with it:

Then we entered an under water experience which I loved since I love the ocean:

Which led to the art gallery:

If you can see in the picture, they had a lot of candy replicas of famous art pieces from around the world but it also had lots of fun, bright colors:

That awesome tunnel led to my favorite room of all - the confetti room! They had someone standing at the door when you walked in throwing confetti on you & the whole room had pictures of flying pigs & unicorns:

But my favorite part was the glitter bombs! They had these little pigs on the wall  & they would sweep up all of the confetti, fill the pigs & then the pigs would explode & confetti would go everywhere:

It was crazy & awesome all at the same time & I loved it!!!

I mean we were covered in confetti but after you did the confetti bomb, they had this spinning wheel that had fans blowing all of the confetti off of you. And of course it had a camera on the ceiling above, so we all had fun taking pictures on it also:

If for some reason you still needed help removing all of the confetti, then they had more fans outside. Super powerful fans in fact:

Sadie went first & we quickly learned it was probably a little too powerful for us so she was the only one who did it. Ha!

Finally, they saved the best for last & this is the room I had heard the most about. The marshmallow pit!

They weren't real marshmallows instead they were foam pieces cut out to look like them. Probably a smart idea because I could see that getting a little sticky & too many kids trying to eat them :( They also had a marshmallow cannon in here & of course that was a blast:

As we were leaving they had a nod to Texas with one last photo opportunity:

I've had several people ask if we liked it & if we thought it was worth it. Don't get me wrong, it was definitely expensive, but I think it was totally worth it. First of all, it was something different that we had never done before. Second, our family is a sweet family - we love sweets, every single one of us but candy is definitely our girls' favorite. But also, I really didn't know about all the cameras & the photo opportunities so that was a bonus. And don't forget about the candy - we came home with a lot of candy:

So I don't know if I would go again just because it is expensive, but I am so glad we went & even though I was a total tourist & took a lot of pictures, it was totally worth it :)
