Sophie's First Late Over

Last week, the girls had a long weekend because they had Friday & Monday off from school. I decided to surprise Sophie & let her have her first late over. She has been asking for a sleepover & I don't think I'm quite ready for that (she is - I'm not!) but I thought a late over would be fun for now. Normal weekends are too busy for us, but since we didn't have school on Friday morning or any early soccer games, we invited her friend over Thursday night. And since I let her invite someone, Sadie wanted to invite someone too:

Their friends came over at 5:30 & stayed until 10:00. Can you tell they were just a little bit excited?!

They came over in their pajamas & as soon as they got there, they took off to play. I let Sophie plan our evening & she wanted to order pizza. After we ate, they wanted to do arts & crafts so we got out one of their gifts they got for their birthday:

My mom bought them these soap kits & they were all excited to pick what kind of soap they wanted to make. They turned out pretty cute & smelled good too:

Next up, dessert. We baked an Easter goodie with peeps inside & it was delicious:

Finally, they got a nail kit from Jojo. They thought it would be fun to do each other's nails but guess I should have paid more attention because they made quite the mess!

It wasn't nail polish - it was fake nails, stickers & glitter. Oh my was there glitter!

But they had fun & had super cute nails :) 

So it was kind of like a rite of passage - Sophie's first late over. I am sure there will be many more in our future but maybe I can hold off on a true sleepover for a while longer. At least until she starts school!
