Easter 2019

We have had a rainy spring season but somehow we were blessed with beautiful weather for Easter weekend! Yesterday the girls woke up early in anticipation for the holiday & were so excited to find their Easter baskets stuffed full of goodies:

I get a little excited shopping for spring & summer goodies since both of their birthdays are in December. They always get everything all at once in the winter & then nothing the rest of the year :( They got aviator sunglasses, sun hats & a volleyball:

Ha! They got much more than that but honestly all Sadie cared about is the volleyball! She has been asking to play for months now so I thought we could start practicing with her around the house. My mom also sent them a present:

Big girl purses from Justice - not the play purses they used to wear around the house:

They were so excited about them they wore them all day :)

After they went through all their goodies, they went on an egg hunt around the house. There were 12 eggs hidden for each of them & they did a pretty good job finding them pretty fast:

Eventually we got ready for the day & headed to church. The girls were excited to wear their dresses from the Daddy Daughter Dance & I was glad to get a second use out of them:

When we got to church they looked like little movie stars walking around with their new shades on & carrying their purses:

We got to church early because we knew it would be crowded so I promised the girls we would do their nails when we got there. I had painted their toenails at home but they wanted to wear their new mermaid nails they got in their Easter basket:

I had hoped to take a picture of their nails after church but Sophie went to the bathroom, washed her hands & when she came back they had already fallen off :(

That afternoon I had to head out of town unexpectedly but Bryan & the girls headed to his parents house for Easter lunch. While they were there, the girls had another egg hunt:

Then they got another Easter present from Grammy & Grandpa:

Jellies & rain boots! Both items on their wish list for spring:

We had a great day, in fact we have been celebrating Easter for the past month since it fell late this year so technically it's been a great month! I have always loved celebrating the holidays with the girls, especially while they were younger so it's a tad bittersweet now that Sophie will be starting kindergarten. We are blessed to have these sweet little girls, 15 years of marriage & a savior who has risen!
