We have had crazy spring weather so our sports schedule has been all messed up until this weekend. It was a little sports overload. Usually the girls practice on Friday night. Sadie has basketball from 4:00 - 5:00 & then both of the girls have soccer from 5:30 - 6:30 for their rec teams. But Sadie's club coach decided to host a scrimmage Friday night since we finally had a good weather so she skipped her practices & headed to this. Thank goodness she did because they had an awesome game. And my favorite part was afterwards in the team huddle when I heard their coach praying over the girls:
I asked Sadie about it & she wasn't even surprised because she said they do that every time. How did I not know that?! So awesome.
We woke up early the next morning ready for soccer but didn't know if the weather would cooperate. Somehow it did. Kind of. Sadie had team pictures first thing in the morning:
This picture makes me a little sentimental because she has been on the Sweet Cleats for 4 years! Most of these girls started playing soccer together when they were 3 but Coach Jeremy is ready for a break & half the team is playing club ball with her.
Afterwards we headed to their field, they warmed up & then it started raining. Of course. Welcome to spring soccer in Texas:
The rain finally passed, it was wet & cold, but these girls finally got their first game in for the season. And they won 9-2!
Next up, Sophie had a soccer game, followed by Sadie's basketball game. I didn't take any pictures but it was a busy day. Then guess what? We woke up & did it again on Sunday. Sadie had a Texans game followed by a Sweet Cleat game. Thankfully the sun came out, warmed out & ended up being a beautiful day! For those keeping count, that is 6 games in 1 weekend :( A little more than normal, but we are trying to make up all of the games that were cancelled due to weather. Actually, our team showed up for her last game on Sunday but the other team did not so we headed to get ice cream instead:
Sadie probably needed the break. I don't know how she has the energy. I'm tired just chauffeuring them around! So it may have been a busy weekend, but it was fun & I am just excited we actually had some decent weather & got caught up on some games :)
