Two years ago we went on a Disney cruise with 2 other families & had the best time! The girls have talked about it since then so we knew we had to plan a trip again. Last time we did it before our oldest started kindergarten, so this time we planned it before our youngest start kinder in the fall. One of the same families went with us & then 1 new family joined us. The girls had a 2 week winter break so it worked out perfectly where we were home for Christmas for the 1st week & then we headed on vacay for the 2nd week. Our last day home was New Year's day & Bryan surprised us with a manis & pedis before the trip:
Sadie is so grown up these days & she wanted white like her babysitters but at least we talked her into getting a Mickey Mouse on one of her fingers:
Sophie got colors for Anna & Elsa, I got red for Mickey & Minnie & Bryan got sparkly burnt orange! Sophie picked out a color for him so he was a good sport & let them paint his big toenails. That's what happens when you live in a house full of girls!
The next day we made a road trip to Galveston. Fortunately, the ship departs Galveston for a few weeks around the holidays so it saves us a lot of money but not having to buy airfare. We booked the trip over a year ago but waited to tell the girls until Christmas day. That was a great idea apparently because they claimed it was the best gift ever! When we told them, I gave them Mickey goldfish & oreo's so we had snacks on the way down there:
It was rainy & cold when we left Dallas & was still rainy & cold when we got to Galveston :( But at least we weren't delayed this time. As soon as we got there, we went straight to the cruise terminal & met up with our friends:
Last time the fog was so bad, we boarded the ship late & everyone was trying to get on at the same time. It was a nightmare. This time couldn't have been any different. There was hardly anyone there & we walked right on with our friends:
As soon as we boarded, we went to our staterooms to unpack & settle in:
Afterwards, we checked out the Oceaneer Club, which is the Kids Club:
and then we headed to our first show & dinner for the week. We ate at Tiana's Place which was a fun way to kick off our vacation because they had a live jazz band & the kids got to meet Princess Tiana:
It was the perfect night to start our cruise. I didn't take many pictures of the boat this time because we went on the exact same ship as last time, but we made sure we chose a different itinerary. But I did take a ton of pictures - you know me! And our friends took a lot of pictures also so look out for lots of blogs this week! We had the best time & I can't wait to share our photos with you.
