Winter Break 2018

As soon as our winter break from school started, it was Christmas but now that the holiday has passed, life has slowed down. We have enjoyed some lazy mornings, ran a few errands, but mostly we have been around the house. After Christmas it looked like a holiday bomb had gone off in our house:

The girls have been awesome & we have cleaned a ton. When we put up all of their birthday & Christmas gifts, we purged their rooms & the play room. Sadie was really into cleaning & this is everything she threw out of her room that she wanted to get rid of:

I was so proud of her! She is finally growing up :) I did hit the stores as soon as they opened Wednesday morning to hit up all of the Christmas sales. I lucked into these ornament storage containers. They were marked wrong at Walmart so I bought 4 for the price of 2:

I love this kind of stuff & feel like every year I find something new that I like. I especially love the clear lid so I can see what's inside without having to open it. I joked that today was the most depressing day of the year because it is always so fun to put up your decorations, but it is never fun taking it down :) The only thing I get excited about is afterwards, when I have it all organized! Every holiday has it's own color so once I pack up Christmas, I store it in the back of the closet so the other holidays are in front:

Besides running errands & cleaning, we haven't done much. We did take the girls to a Texas Legends basketball game & we had a blast since it was our first game of the season. Of course I didn't any pictures. But we did have a few surprises for the girls. First up, Bryan got a new car earlier this fall & we had talked about getting me one as well since mine was 10 years old, so we finally took advantage of the holiday sales:

I don't know who was more excited - me or the girls?! They are in my car the majority of the time so they really were excited:

I had a SUV, but it was a small one & this one is mid-size, so it is a little bigger & it has a 3rd row so we can carpool with more friends:

Happy New Year to me! Speaking of new year, our last surprise for the girls was a surprise vacation! So instead of having a fun new year's eve out with friends, Bryan & I are home working & getting ready to head out of town. The girls went to their grandparents' house & are celebrating with their cousins:

Hope you all have a blessed & prosperous 2019!
