I know, I know, I have blogged a lot about our trip to Mexico & bragged on & on about our resort at Mayakoba but I have one last post to share. We talked to the manager & he said usually the resort is 70-80% couples & it is an awesome couples resort. I have no doubt Bryan & I will probably be back by ourselves some time. But during peak seasons (especially during holidays & summer) when they do have kids there, they have an amazing kids club program called Rosebuds. From the minute we checked into the resort, these kids were loved on & well taken care of:
As I mentioned, the kids club was located down by the family pool so they could come & go as much as they wanted. It was open from 9:00 to 5:00 every day with activities listed for every hour. And if there wasn't a specific activity planned at that very moment, they could still color, play games, etc. Every morning at 10:00, they had an eco tour on the boat & they did that a couple of times:
They went to yoga one morning:
Made lots of arts & crafts including pinatas, home made play dough, painted ceramics, made dream catchers, jewelry & so much more I can't even think of it all:
One day while we were swimming, we saw them hanging a piƱata so of course they had to join in on the fun:
They also face painted whenever you wanted so Sophie took advantage of this. She absolutely loved having her face painted!
Every afternoon they offered a cooking class. One day they went to the Japanese restaurant & made sushi. One day lemon pie the next day ice cream sandwiches:
But their favorite cooking class was the day they went to the garden & used the outdoor kitchen & wood fire oven to make dessert pizzas:
Don't they look so cute sitting their in their chef hats & aprons?! This was literally our last day there so normally Bryan & I would be off doing our own thing, but since we were headed to the airport, we stayed around to watch them. And maybe help them eat it :)
First they had to roll out their dough & bake it. Then they got to decorate it how ever they wanted with all kinds of sugary sweets:
It was literally the last thing we did before we headed to the airport & the perfect way to end their trip! The ladies at the kids club were amazing & completely loved on our children & spoiled them:
It's kind of like going to camp because it was bittersweet for them to tell all of their friends goodbye. But they came home with all kind of goodies! More souvenirs than we have ever had, but they were especially proud of the ceramics they painted:
The kids were a perfect age for this trip. You have to be 4 & potty trained to be dropped off at the kids club so they were just independent enough to enjoy the freedom. However, I did notice there were not many families with older kids so I think was definitely the sweet spot.
Thank you Bryan for another wonderful family vacation. You always do the best job finding us perfect locations & amazing resorts. I am so glad we have our own personal vacation planner in our family!
